The mother doesn’t approve of it, and the girl is showing off, which indicates it might be low cut, plus the fact that the mother would have a comment on her daughter’s outfit probably indicates that the daughter is fairly young. The girl is wearing a red dress, which is symbolic of sexuality. I think the song is about a young couple losing their virginity together. everything that you’ve ever dreamed of disappearing when you wake up– this means that yoy realize you have everything you need and you don’t want those other things that you used to really want before.– but there’s nothing to be afraid of even when the night changes– so through those dark times, you need to lift your chin up and be brave.–
The rest of the chorus is pretty self explanatory. The moon represents a feminine symbol of eternity and enlightment, - she said it was something that she won’t forget– basically, its a pleasant moment.– having no regrets is all that she really wants– meaning you should live your life without looking back at the past. Everything she never had, she’ showing off– meaning she wants the person to like her? She wants her life to be better? Driving too fast moon is breaking through her hair– so maybe they want to get away? driving fast may be dangerous but also kind of nice in a way. Her mother doesn’t like that kind of dress–don’t really know.
